Why You Need An Attorney

A General Accounting Office study submitted to Congress revealed that Social Security disability claimants represented by attorneys are three to five times more likely to be awarded their benefits than claimants not represented by an attorney.
After reviewing over 598.000 claim files, the GAO concluded that “although SSA does not require claimants to have representation, the results of our analysis show that claimants with representation are more likely to be awarded benefits than those without representation.” Overall, claimants who were represented were granted their benefits 63% of the time. Claimants who were not represented were granted their benefits only 43% of the time.
Having an attorney represent you at all levels of the disability process is an important step for your success. If you or someone you know might benefit from talking to an attorney, please contact the Law Office of Sharon J. Meyers at 816-753-3929 for a free consultation.
